| 3 Cs rule Delivery of News in Indian TV Channels - Prof. Daya K Thussu |
|
Three Cs-Cinema, Cricket and Celebrity are ruling the Indian News Television Channels today, be it market compulsions or effects of globalization, said Daya Kishan Thussu, a Professor in International Communication at University of Westminster, UK, while interacting with the students and faculty of IMS
Professor Thussu said that the Indian electronic media even today continues to dabble in uncertainty and confusion in prioritizing the news with regard to striking a balance between what is necessary for the public, what is relevant to the needs of the society and what is the society's right to know. Thussu analyzed further that Cinema has become an inevitable component of the news menu of television channels to keep up the Television Rating Points.

on March 5, 2009. Prime Minister of Tibetan Govt.-in-Exile, Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche announced at a special lecture at the Institute of Management Studies (IMS) that led by the Dalai Lama himself, all Tibetans will formally say: Thank you, India on the completion of 50 years of their stay in India on March 31, 2009.
This, he said, would be an expression of their deep sense of gratitude to the people and Government of India for the immense love and generosity they received in this country, enabling them to preserve their distinct culture and identity as a community and nation.
Speaking on Indo-Tibetan Cultural and Political Relations and Future of Tibet, Prof. Rinpoche likened India and Tibet relations as between one soul and two bodies. The entire Tibetan culture owed its origin and foundation to the culture of India.
